To Be Determined

Artist Statement

To Be Determined is a collection of portraits that aims to display the process of finding oneself by identifying admirable qualities in others. As I near the end of my undergraduate program, I am constantly thinking about who I am and comparing it to who I want to be. While I am happy with my professional & academic achievements, I feel that there is much left to be desired in terms of my self-expression. 

I've sought to capture a series of candid moments of people who exhibit characteristics that I desire. I find myself repeatedly capturing images of visual and performance artists. Their unbound ideas, artistic processes, and the vulnerability required to display themselves to the world are what catch my eye. Through To Be Determined, I am presenting a sort of mood board for how I envision my life after graduation.
